Which class fits an 8-year-old?
Warriors, for ages 7 to 9. It meets at least once every day: 5:05 PM Monday and Wednesday, 4:10 PM and 6:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 PM Friday, 10:05 AM Saturday, and 11:15 AM Sunday.
Is martial arts a good fit for a shy child?
Often, yes. The first class is private, so there is no crowd, and coaches point out what your child does right from the first minute. Most shy children warm up within a class or two.
What happens in a regular class?
Every class runs 45 minutes. It opens with a bow, moves through a warm-up, a new technique, pad work with a partner, and a game-style challenge, and closes with a two-minute talk about something like respect or effort.
